Mrs. Lottie Gaines McKennan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Gaines, passed away Saturday morning, July 11, at the Military Avenue hospital in Fremont. She had been ill about ten days, and Wednesday was operated on. Mrs. McKennan was born Jan. 1, 1893 at the farm home near Kennard. She was married June 18, 1927 at Grand Island to John McKennan of Fremont. She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Sarah Gaines; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Blanchard of Herman, and Mrs. Fred Christensen of Arlington; four brothers, Chet, Newton, Archer and Ed. Funeral services were held Monday from the Bader Funeral Home in Fremont, with burial at the Elk City cemetery.
