FRANK LEROY DUDGEON

Frank Dudgeon, well known citizen of Blair and pioneer resident of Washington county, passed away at his home on north Walker Avenue at three fifteen Tuesday morning following an illness of three months. During his illness he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he could not rally.

Deceased was born in Red Wing, Minnesota May 30, 1858. When he was nine years of age the family moved to this county in the year 1867. Crossing the river on a ferry at DeSoto, the family settled on a homestead south of Blair now owned by Wm. Voss. Here he grew to manhood and on September 20, 1893 he was married to Miss Bertha Short. The ceremony took place in Omaha, and for a time they made Omaha their home.

The wife and one son, Roy Dudgeon, also one sister, Mrs. W. D. Smith of Tekamah, and one brother, W. D. Dudgeon of Omaha, with four Grandchildren, are left to mourn his death.

In his dealings with men, the deceased was strictly honest, a gentleman of the old school who believed and trusted humanity. He lived the life of a true Christian, paying all that was due and living up to his faith in every manner.

He was a member of the Methodist church, of the Masonic and Eastern Star fraternities and lived up to their precepts and teachings.

The funeral is to be held this Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from the Methodist church with Rev. Pardun giving the funeral address, and the Eastern Star in charge, while later at the grave the ceremonies will be in charge of the Masonic organization.
