MEETS DEATH BY ACCIDENT

Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Meierhenry and family received the shocking news last Friday morning of the death of a nephew and cousin, Richard Treptow, at Ithaca, Neb. in Saunders county, who was fatally injured Thursday afternoon.

The young man, nineteen years old, was cutting grain in the harvest field. Another brother, Ralph, was spraying the horses, giving them relief from the flies when “Dick” stepped in front of the team to quiet them. The horses started to run, and the drive wheel of the binder passed over the young man’s back, and he suffered a broken back and internal injuries. The lower part of his body was paralyzed, but he was conscious until the end. He was rushed to the Wahoo hospital where he died four hours after the accident.

Mr. and Mrs. Meierhenry and daughter, Hattie, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Meierhenry of west of Blair attended the funeral services Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical church at Ithaca.
