Johanna (McCarthy) Franklin

News of the death of Mrs. Johanna Franklin, widow of Warren Franklin, which occurred at her home in Florence on last Monday, was received by pioneer residents of Blair who had known her in the early days when the family lived in the Slader neighborhood, south of Fort Calhoun, in the early days. Two daughters and one son and many relatives survive, all well-known Washington County people in former years.

Douglas County Resident For Sixty Years Dead

Mrs. Johanna Franklin, a resident of Douglas County for over sixty years, died yesterday at her home, Fourth and State Streets, Florence.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by one son, Henry Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. M. J. Cain of Florence, and Mrs. Wall Alexander of Tekamah, Neb.; one brother, Michael McCarthy of Florence; three sisters, Mrs. Daniel Ryan, Florence, and Mrs. Frank Kitchmark and Mrs. M. Gentleman of Omaha.

The funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Phillip Neri Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. – World Herald.
