Danny D. LaRue 19 Sep 1942 – 5 May 2018

Danny D. LaRue, 76 years, of Scribner, NE passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Danny was born September 19, 1941 to Fuzzy and Roberta (Catron) LaRue in Chambers, NE. He grew up in Chambers and graduated from Chambers High School. After high school, Danny served in the U.S. Air Force from February 23, 1968 to December 8, 1971. On December 20, 1974, he married Lois (Frey) Peterson in Omaha, NE. Danny worked various places throughout his life including: Chambers Farm & Ranch Supply in Chambers, NE, LJL Electrical in Omaha, NE, Hormel in Fremont. His farming experiences include: raising hogs, dairy cattle, and operating LaRue's Little Horse Ranch Pony Rides since 1984.

Danny was a member of the VFW in Chambers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry; and several other beloved family members.

He is survived by wife, Lois; sons, Phillip (Nancy) Peterson of Blair, NE, Mark Peterson of Fremont, NE, Kevin (Kathi) Peterson of Omaha, NE and Shannon (Lori) Peterson of Fremont, NE; daughters, Deneille (Scott) Ahl of Lavista, NE, Yolonda (Carl) Cease of Scribner, NE, Deidre (Rob) Herpel of Honolulu, HI, and Darla (Jason) Garretson of Scribner, NE; brothers, Lanny LaRue of Atkinson, NE and Gary (Charlene) LaRue of Chambers, NE; sisters, Shirley (Bob) King of Pilger, NE, LaRee (Les) Kubes of Madison, NE, and Teresa (Jeff) Sandeen of Fremont, NE; and 147 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. Rev. Aaron Horton will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

Burial will be at the Herman Cemetery, south of Herman, NE.

Memorials will be directed to the family.
