A. A. PHILLIPS

A. A. Phillips was born July 6, 1876 near Tekamah, Nebraska in the Silver Creek neighborhood. When quite young the family moved to Blair where they have since made their home. When 12 years of age he united with the Baptist church, and during his life he lived the life of a consistent Christian.

He passed away Tuesday evening after a short illness leaving two sisters, Eva Phillips, and Mrs. Elmer Pate and Husband and two nieces, Miss ida Knox and Miss Ruth Pate, who will deeply mourn his death.

For many years he has been a faithful employee of the Haller Proprietary Co. of this city.

During his life A. A. Phillips was at all times a conscientious Christian gentleman, always looking on the bright side of life, and he has many old time friends who will mourn deeply his passing.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the Baptist church, and interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

Allen A. Phillips Dies Suddenly

Heart Attack Following Stomach Trouble is Fatal

Allen A. Phillips passed away suddenly at the Blair hospital about 6:00 o’clock Tuesday evening of a heart attack which followed a siege of stomach trouble. He had been at his work at the Haller Company until Friday of last week. Tuesday noon he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

He was born at Silvercreek near Tekamah, July 6, 1876, and came to Blair when he was eight years old, having made his home here since that time. He was the son of the late Charles E. and Martha J. Phillips.

The deceased took up the printers trade and work for a number of years on the old Republican and The Courier. About twelve years ago he took up a good position with the Haller Company and has worked there since that time.

He joined the Baptist church when he was twelve years old and had been a most active worker in church affairs all of his life.

He held memberships in the fraternal aid union and in the Knights of Maccabees. Mr. Phillips was industrious and his sunny disposition made many friends for him.

Surviving him are two sisters, Eva Phillips and Mrs. Elmer Pate; two nieces, Ida Knox and Ruth Pate; besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from the Baptist church this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with Rev, L.J. Moran, officiating, after which interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
