Mr. R. E. Perkins passed to his heavenly home Wednesday, May 11, 1931 at 11:30 o’clock after a short illness of heart trouble. He was born Jan. 6, 1848 in Bakersfield, Vermont. He came to the Home Aug. 10, 1928 from Sioux City, Ia., after his wife died, to made this his home. He was a loyal member of the Home and will greatly be missed by all. The funeral services were held in the Home Wednesday morning at nine o’clock, Rev. Pardun officiating, after which the body was taken to Ute, Iowa for burial. His only relative, W. B. Perkins of Norfolk, a nephew, was here making the arrangements.
