MRS. ANNIE DE VINNEY

Annie O. Gallan was born in Norway March 15, 1847 and died at the age of 84 years and 1 month at the home of her son, Joe, at Blair, Nebraska April 17, 1931.

She came to America at the age of 17 to be with her brother in Burt county, Neb. where she was married to Andrew J. DeVinney.

They lived near Decatur, Neb., and raised a family of five children, four of whom survive her. viz, Mrs. Abbie Brinley of Tekamah; Everett of Sterling, Colo; Mrs. Effie Casteel of Oakland and Joe of Blair.

Her other daughter, Mrs. Minnie Jensen of Nevada, Iowa predeceased her mother only twenty one days on March 26, 1931.

She was brought up a Lutheran, but shortly after her marriage she accepted the Adventist faith to which she adhered faithfully and firmly until her death. In 1899 they moved to Chunchula, Alabama where they remained until her husband’s last sickness. He was taken to Nevada, Iowa where he died April 7, 1917 and is buried at Decatur, Neb. She made her home with Mrs. Jensen until February, 1931. Since then until her death, she was cared for at her son’s home near Blair.

She is survived by four children, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 19, and interment was made at Decatur, Neb.
