A. J. Taylor, a resident of this city for over fifty years, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, at his home on east Colfax street after an illness of many months’ duration. The deceased was seventy seven years of age at the time of his death, and was born in Ohio in 1853. He came to Nebraska in a covered wagon in 1878, and has lived here ever since. He was a painter by trade, and during his active years probably painted and decorated more Blair homes than any other painter here.

He is survived by his wife and eleven children, Fred of Blair, Ivan of Reinbeck, Iowa, Carleton and Paul of Omaha, Edward of Denver, Max of Whittier, Calif., Byron of Los Angeles, Mrs. B. S. Fletcher and Mrs. G. A. Smith of Whittier and Mrs. Claire Warrick and Mrs. Harold Stewart of Blair.

The deceased has been a member of the Odd Fellow organization for many years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 24 from the home, with Rev. Moran of the Baptist church officiating. Burial was made in the local cemetery.
