Adam Rodel, a resident of Blair for about fifty six years, passed away at his home in east Blair last Sunday morning at eight o’clock at the age of 81 years.

Deceased was born in Bavaria, Germany and came to America when twenty years of age. He landed in New York where he found work for a number of years. He came to Blair, Nebraska in 1875 where he has since made his home.

On November 19, 1880 he was married to Miss Katie Lage in Blair with Judge Alonzo Perkins performing the ceremony. To this union six children were born, three of whom are still living: Mrs. Minnie Bates of Kennard, Michael of Blair and Adam of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.

For twenty one years Mr. Rodel conducted the ice business in Blair, but retired, and since that time has resided quietly in his home on east Grant street.

The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. A. F. Newell of the Congregational church officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Besides the three children already mentioned, he leaves the wife to mourn him.
