Mrs. Marshall Tyson is Dead

Onetime Blairite, 45, Dies At Mayo’s; Mother of Three Children

Mrs. Marshall B. Tyson, 45, of 3036 North 45th St., Omaha, one time Blairite, died Sunday morning at Rochester, Minn. She had been at the Mayo Clinic and had submitted to an operation for a brain tumor, but pneumonia was the immediate cause of her death.

As Agnes Clare Mehrens, daughter of William and Margaret Mehrens, she was born in Blair Aug. 27, 1903. Following her graduation from Blair High School in 1920, she went to Notre Dame, Ind., to further her education at St. Mary’s College.

She and Marshall B. Tyson, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Tyson of Blair, were married Oct. 3, 1923. They had lived in Omaha many years, where Mr. Tyson is employed by the Omaha Public Power District.

Mrs. Tyson is survived by her husband; two sons, Jerome, 19, a seminary student at Kirkwood, Mo., and Eugene, 17, student at Creighton Prep in Omaha; a daughter, Mary Mareia, 10, her mother, Mrs. Margaret Mehrens of Blair; her father, William Mehrens of Minneapolis, Min., a brother, Francis Mehrens of Blair. Mrs. Addie Tyson of Blair is her mother-in-law.

Funeral services were held at 8:30 a.m. yesterday at the John A. Gentleman Mortuary in Omaha, followed at 9 a.m. by services at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Mrs. Tyson was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.

FORMER BLAIRITE BURIED IN OMAHA

Mrs. Marshall B. Tyson (nee Agnes Clare Mehrens) died Sunday January 2nd at Rochester, Minn. following an operation for a brain tumor performed Dec. 20th. She developed pneumonia which was the immediate cause of her death.

She was born in Blair August 27th, 1903, a daughter of William and Margaret Mehrens. Following her graduation from Blair High School in 1920, she attended St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. On October 3rd, 1923, she married Marshall B. Tyson and has been in Omaha since then.

She is survived by three children, Jerome, 19; Eugene, 17 and Mary Marca, 10; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Mehrens and a brother, Francis of Blair and her father, William of Minneapolis, Minn.

Services were held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the John A. Gentleman Mortuary, followed by services at 9 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic church. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Omaha.
