MRS. GERTRUDE NIELSEN PASSES

Mrs. Gertrude Nielsen, a resident of Washington county for the past forty years, passed away at her home near Calhoun Saturday, Dec. 3rd after a brief illness. Mrs. Nielsen was born in Thorup near Horsens, Denmark May 30, 1871, and emigrated to America in 1891. On Aug. the 2nd, 1892 she was united in marriage to Mr. Laurits Nielsen, and moved to their new farm home near Calhoun. Here Mrs. Nielsen has lived the past 40 years.

She leaves to mourn her death her six children: Mrs. Anna Jeppesen of Blair; Andrew Nielsen of Blair; Mrs. Ruth Cannon of Los Angeles; Ms. Lucien Haller of San Antone, Texas; Mrs. Lorraine Bosking of Omaha; and Leth Nielsen of Blair. One sister, Mrs. Hans Hansen of Omaha, and six grandchildren also survive her.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the First Lutheran Church with Rev. James N. Lund officiating.
