MRS. CLAUDE E. CARTER

Mrs. Claude E. Carter of Plattsmouth passed away Sunday, November 13th, at the Lord Lister hospital in Omaha following an operation for appendicitis. She was ill but two days and one night, but when the operation was performed the appendix had burst and peritonitis had set in which proved fatal.

Pearl Burnett was born in Calhoun Jan. 29, 1889. Later the family moved to Walthill where she met and married Claude E. Carter on April 12, 1912, the marriage ceremony being performed in Omaha. For a time the couple resided at Walthill and at Blair, but about two years ago established a home in Plattsmouth where they have since resided.

Two daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Carter, Mrs. F. E. Shellasky of Plattsmouth and Miss Ruby at home. These, with the husband and mother and four sisters and two brothers, deeply mourn her death.

The funeral services were held in Blair in the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints with Elder Amos Lampson of Indian Mission at Walthill, Elder H. Whiting of Omaha officiating. The music was furnished by Miss Vanola Brunson and a Miss Brownrigg, an Indian girl of the Walthill mission. The O.E.S., of which the deceased was a member, were present in a body and also put on their beautiful ceremony at the grave at the Blair Cemetery.
