Clyde Fitch was born at Herman, Nebr. on April 24, 1892 and died at the Immanuel hospital Omaha Thursday, October 20. He had been ill the past month of typhoid fever. Although he has been very sick, he was thought to be improving. Tuesday he took a decided turn for the worse, and Dr. Cameron rushed him to Omaha for an operation. After the operation, blood transfusions were given in the hopes of saving his life, to no avail and he passed away Thursday morning at about 11:30. Clyde was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Fitch, long-time residents of Herman. He was reared in this community, and has always made Herman his hometown. He has lived a busy and industrious life, and earned the name of one of our best-loved and respected citizens. He joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Herman when he was fifteen years old, and in his last illness expressed his trust in God. He was married on April 15, 1914 to Miss Amelia Miller at Herman. They have made their home on a farm near here since that time. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Clyde and George Miller and one daughter, Donna Lee. His parents and two brothers, Roscoe of Los Angeles, California and Wallace of Herman. Funeral services were held at the home here Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Norlin officiated. Burial was in the Herman cemetery.
