MRS. J. S. HEDELUND

Mrs. J. S. Hedelund, formerly a resident of Blair, but for the past three years of Omaha, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12th at the home of her son, Albert at 4451 Miami St., Omaha.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Hedelund are well and favorably known in Blair where they spent most of their married life, and where they reared and educated a family of eleven children, all of whom are Blair high school graduates.

Three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hedelund went to make their home with their son, Albert, of Omaha, whose wife had passed away, a victim of influenza.

Mr. and Mrs. Hedelund celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary a little over three years ago in Omaha, and their old Blair friends were present to assist in the festivities. The event was a red letter day, not only in the memory of this worthy couple, but also in the memory of their old time friends who grieve over the sad news of Mrs. Hedelund’s death.

Deceased was born in Denmark March 7,1858, and came to America and to Blair in early womanhood.

Surviving her are the husband and five sons, Soren, John, Albert, Martin and George and six daughters, Mary, Anna, Electra, Carrie and Dorothy. Soren is now pastor of St. Marks Episcopal church Morehead, Minnesota; John and Albert are owners of the United Grain company, Omaha; George is cashier of the Kennard State bank; and Martin is with the Conservative Building and Loan association in Omaha.

Funeral services were held at two o’clock p.m. from the First English church, 62 and Miami streets, Benson, and interment made in Omaha.

MRS. J.S. HEDELUND DIES AT AGE OF 74

MOTHER OF 11 PASSES AWAY WEDNESDAY AT HOME OF SON IN OMAHA

Mrs. J.S. Hedelund, for years preceding 1919 a resident of Blair and the mother of 11 children, all graduates of Blair high school, died at the home of her son, Albert, at 4451 Miami, Omaha, Wednesday, October 12th. Since the death of Mrs. Albert Hedelund from influenza in 1919, the mother had made a home for the son and his little daughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the English Lutheran church at 62nd and Miami streets in Omaha (Benson). Burial will be in an Omaha hospital. Scores of friends of the family in this vicinity are expected to attend the rites.

Mrs. Hedelund was born in Denmark on March 7th. Three years ago, with her husband who survives her, she celebrated her golden wedding anniversary.

The Hedelunds were widely known in this vicinity during their long period of residence here and have countless friends locally who sympathize with Mr. Hedelund and the children in the loss of their mother
