THOMAS C. MURRAY

Thomas C. Murray, a resident of this county for the last sixty years, passed away Wednesday morning at 2 o’clock of apoplexy. Deceased was born in Omaha in 1870, but his parents moved about that time to a farm just west of Blair where he grew to manhood.

About four years ago he suffered from a fall from which he never fully recovered, and which it is thought hastened his death. He leaves to mourn his departure three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Van Huss and Mrs. Patrick Mackin of this county and Mrs. W. D. Lewis of Washington, Kansas and two brothers, John and Dan, both of Blair.

Funeral services were held from the J. E. Campbell undertaking parlors with Father O’Sullivan officiating this Thursday morning at ten o’clock, and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

TOM MURRAY DIES AT THE AGE OF 62

RITES HELD THIS MORNING FOR LIFELONG RESIDENT OF BLAIR VICINITY

Tom Murray, 62, a lifelong resident of Washington County, near Blair, died suddenly at the Murray residence occupied by himself and his brother John, on east Colfax Street Wednesday morning at the age of 62. Although he had not been in good health for several years and had been compelled to walk with a cane for some time because of an attack of paralysis, his condition was not considered dangerous. He had apparently arisen Wednesday morning, made his way to the kitchen and then fallen over on the floor dead.

Mr. Murray, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Murray, prominent and wealthy Washington County pioneers, was born June 16, 1870, and he had spent a greater part of his time on farms in this locality. With his brother John, he had moved into Blair several years ago and retired.

Brief funeral rites were held Thursday morning with Rev. William O’Sullivan officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Murray are two brothers, Dan and John, and two sisters, Mrs. Pat Mackin, who lives south of Blair, and Mrs. William VanHuss.
