Word was received Monday of the death of Baxter Carter, a former Washington county pioneer, who for the past few years has lived in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Carter was the son of T. M. Carter who made the first settlement on the present site of the city of Blair, and is the brother of Mrs. Marion Sutherland. Burial will be in California, as his wife is also seriously ill and cannot return with the body.
