ARLINGTON MOTHER PASSES

Mrs. Ernest Wager, age 69 years, early settler of this county, died in an Omaha hospital early Sunday morning following an operation which was performed several days previous.

Carrie Alinda Brown was born at Waterbury, Conn. on Nov. 22, 1862, and came to this county with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. Brown, when but a small child. They settled on a farm southeast of Arlington, which her father homesteaded and where she grew to womanhood.

On Oct. 18, 1892 she was united in marriage to Mr. Ernest Wager at Akron, Colo., where they lived for a year. They returned to Washington county and went to farming on what is now known as the Nels Svendgard farm near Dale. Here they spent their more active years, and reared their family. Some years ago they retired from the farm and moved to Arlington where they built a comfortable home and where they have since resided.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, a son, Vernon, of Arlington and two daughters, Mrs. Leora Mitchell of Arlington and Mrs. Inez Wimer of Stanton, Neb. There are also three grandchildren, Alice Mitchell, Patricia Jean and Grace Myrtle Wimer. She leaves also one brother, Frank W. Brown of Arlington.

Mrs. Wager will be keenly missed by her immediate family and among her relatives and friends. Always a home lover, she will be missed in her accustomed place.

A large assemblage of friends at the funeral services on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 9, at the home, testified to the love and respect in which the deceased was held. Rev. A. J. Edgar of the Arlington Methodist church officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.
