FIND BODY OF SLAIN MAN

Man Apparently Victim of thugs Found Under Railroad Bridge North Of Calhoun. Slain Friday Night.

ROBBERY ATTEMPT IS CAUSE

The body of Archie Moore, 36, former Detroit barber, was found murdered under a railroad bridge a mile north of Calhoun Sunday evening.

Letters in his pocket brought identification. Moore had recently worked for Anton Classen, farmer at Glenview, Neb. He left there Thursday of last week with about $16, intending to go to the home of a brother, Lloyd, at Hankinson, N.D.

The body was found at the foot of a bank under a railroad bridge where it had apparently been placed after the murder occurred. A one dollar bill was found under the body and another was found protruding from the pocket. Evidences of a fight were found, and a pair of scissors with which he evidently sought to protect himself were found near the body.

The body was found by Wm. Rohwer of Ft. Calhoun, and the slaying is believed to have been done on Friday evening as the body was in a bad state of decomposition.

County Attorney Mencke and Sheriff Sutherland and Deputy Gustin were notified and immediately brought the body to Blair where it was held for a time pending word from relatives in Detroit, Michigan.
