Mrs. Robert Carmichael of this city received word on May 18 of the death of her brother, H. Gordon Cross, at his home in San Antonio, Texas where he has lived for the past fifteen years. At the time of his death he was operating a job printery. When but sixteen years of age, he edited the Elgin Neb. Press, printing the paper in the office of his father, the late Judge Cross, who at that time owned the Petersburg Press. He has been in newspaper work all his life. He was 58 years of age. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three sons and two sisters.
