Orville "Red" Magill

May 5, 1930 - June 27, 2018

Orville “Red” Richard Magill was born May 5, 1930 in Herman, Nebraska to Raymond Magill, Sr. and Bessie (Hovendick) Magill. He passed away peacefully June 27, 2018, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 88.

Orville attended Neff, Spiker, Broderson and New England country schools in Washington County. He graduated from Herman High School in 1947.

Orville married Madge Foulk June 17, 1949. To this union four children were born; Kathrine, Connie, Susan and Greg.

Orville was a member of Craig Presbyterian Church, Craig Masonic Lodge and Craig Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served as fire chief.

When Orville wasn’t building terraces across the hills of Burt and Washington County, he enjoyed his farm west of Craig. He enjoyed anything that required using machinery or moving dirt.

In his retirement, he enjoyed meeting friends at the Oakland Golf Course.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Madge; parents; brother, Raymond Magill, Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Johnson (Mike Shafer) of Lampe, MO, Connie (Brian) Buhr of McCook, NE, Susan Magill of Ashland, NE; son, Greg (Bobbie) Magill of Tekamah, NE; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Norm) Hineline of Omaha, NE.

Visitation: Friday, 6-29-2018 9:30 – 10:30 at First Presbyterian Church, 310 E Pleasant Ave. Craig, Ne 68019
