FORMER COUNTY WOMAN TO BE BURIED HERE

Word has been received in Blair of the death of Mrs. Alice Kincaid at the home of her son, John F. in Omaha on Wednesday, April 6.

The deceased was born in Washington county, Virginia on March 15, 1862, and came to Nebraska in 1872. She lived in Blair vicinity until her marriage Febr. 20, 1883 to George W. Kincaid, when they moved on a farm in the southwest part of the county. She was the mother of six children, two dying in infancy and one son, Lee, passing away in 1919.

She is survived by two sons, John F. and Wade H. of Omaha and one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Gage of Lincoln. There are five grandchildren. Her husband died March 10, 1927. She leaves also three brothers, George of Blair, Emmett of Tekamah, Andy of Walthill and one sister, Mrs. Allen Erwin of Hutchinson, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held Friday at two p.m. from the Moore Funeral Home at Benson with burial in the Blair cemetery.

EARLY DAY RESIDENT DIES ON WEDNESDAY…MRS. KINCAID CAME TO WASHINGTON COUNTY IN 1872

Mrs. Margaret E.A. Kincaid, long time resident of Washington County, died early Wednesday morning, April 6, at the home of her son, John Kincaid, in Omaha. She had been in poor health for several months and failed rapidly following an attack of the flu several weeks ago.

As Margaret E.A. Caldwell she was born in Washington County, Virginia, March 15, 1862 and moved with her parents to Washington County, Nebraska in 1872. She lived in the vicinity of Blair until her marriage in 1883 to George W. Kincaid when they made their home on a farm near Arlington for many years. They later moved to Douglas County and were residents of Omaha at the time of Mr. Kincaid’s death in March, 1927. Following the loss of her husband, Mrs. Kincaid made her home with her children and had spent much of her time in Blair the past two or three years with her niece, Mrs. E.G. Carson and husband. Mrs. Kincaid was a kindly disposition and left many friends to mourn her passing.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kincaid, two dying in infancy while one son, Lee W. died in 1919. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Gage of Lincoln; two sons, John F. and Wade H. Kincaid, of Omaha and five grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Allan Irwin of Hutchinson, Kansas; three brothers, George V. Caldwell of Blair, A.J. Caldwell of Walthill, and Emmett Caldwell of Tekamah, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o’clock tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at the Moore Benson funeral home on Military avenue in Omaha after which interment will be made in Blair cemetery where her husband is buried.
