31 Mar., 1932 - The Enterprise William J. Ludwig, age 70 years, died at his home here on Sunday afternoon at three thirty o’clock, following a stroke which he suffered on Saturday about noon while doing some remodeling work on the Grassmueck residence. He had been in seemingly good health up until that time. The deceased was born at Bushnell, Ill. in August, 1861. When a youth of sixteen, he came with relatives to Nebraska locating in the western part, near Madrid. In 1888 he was united in marriage with Lulu Dye, and later they moved to Arlington where he has spent the greater part of his life. He was by trade a brick mason. Funeral arrangements have not been made pending the arrival of his four sons from the east who were expected to arrive late Sunday evening. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Miss Alma Ludwig, who teaches at Shickley; Mrs A. E. Whitlow of Scribner and Mrs. Erival Rosenbaum of Blair; four sons: Roscoe and Hobson Ludwig of Chicago, Ill., Dr. Earl Ludwig of Springfield, Ill., and Clyde Ludwig of Theinsville, Wis. Two brothers, A. M. Ludwig of Arlington, Ed Ludwig of Grand Island and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Baker of Sturgis.
