Fidella Pruitt was born in Brooks Grove, Indiana April 7, 1850. Here she grew to womanhood, and here in the year 1874 she was married to Geo. W. Carmichael. To this union seven children were born: Chris, the eldest, departed this life March 18, 1926. The others are: Chloe, Mrs. Frank Swift, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Ralph, Blair, Nebraska; Deborah, Mrs. C. Charlton, Denver, Colorado; John, Madison, Wisconsin; Avie, Denver, Colorado; Charles, Blair, Nebr. There are also two stepsons: O. F. Carmichael, Blair, Neb. and M. S. Carmichael, Sparta, Wisconsin. Besides these, there are left to mourn the departed thirteen grandchildren and many friends.

In the early eighties Mrs. Carmichael, with her husband and family, moved from Brooks Grove, Ind., to Washington co., Nebraska. Here she lived until her death, Wednesday, March 16. Her husband preceded her May 1, 1928. Mrs. Carmichael became a member of the Christian church at a very early age. She lived a consistent Christian life. She was an invalid for the greater part of her life. She was always a patient, cheerful sufferer. Her life was a sacrifice for others.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Bendorf Funeral Home, Rev. A. J Hargett officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
