Funeral services for Ella Marie Larsen were held at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon at two o’clock, conducted by Rev. Viggo Petersen of Blair, pastor of the Hill Creek Lutheran church, assisted by Rev. C. C. Norlin. Burial was made in the Herman cemetery. Ella Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larsen, was born September 7, 1919 on the farm three miles west of Herman where she lived all her life, except one year when the family lived in Herman. She passed away at the Immanuel hospital at Omaha Tuesday morning, February 16 1932, after one week of illness, suffering with a ruptured appendix, aged 12 years, 5 months and 9 days. She attended the Hill Creek school and was in the eighth grade.

HERMAN GIRL DIES EARLY TUESDAY…DEATH FOLLOWS AN ATTACK OF APPENDICITIS Miss Ella Marie Larsen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larsen, passed away at the hospital in Omaha at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, February 16 after a week’s illness caused by a ruptured appendix. She was age 12 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was born September 7, 1919 on a farm three miles west of Herman where she lived all of her life except one year when the family lived in Herman.

She attended the Hill Creek School and was a member of the 8th grade at the time of her death. She was a member of the Faithful Helpers class of the Hill Creek Lutheran Sunday School.

Besides her parents she is survived by an aunt, Mrs. Ed Fletcher of the New England neighborhood, her grandparents in Denmark and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. Viggo Peterson of Blair assisted by Rev. C.C. Norlin. Music was furnished by Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Mrs. George Lowe, Fred Robertson and Charles Gray with Mrs. Hanson at the piano. The pallbearers were Ejnar and Clarence Hanson, Earl and Delbert Fletcher, Ernest Jensen and Francis Elmore. The pupils of the Hill Creek School took part in the services at the Herman cemetery. The entire community sympathizes with Mr. and Mrs. Larson in their grief.
