Roland Utterback

From The Terry Tribune, 1-5-1984, p. 3: Roland Utterback was born November 12, 1900, in Blair, NE, the son of Cary and Wilma Utterback. He came to Union with his parents in 1910. In June of 1929 he married Beulah Martin in Dickinson ND and they lived and farmed in the Union area until 1941, moving to CA for a short time. They returned to the Glendive area in 1943. He owned and operated the Stockman bar in Glendive, retiring in 1965. Mr. Utterback died at age 83 at his Marsh home on Christmas Day 1983. The apparent cause of death was hypothermia as a result of the temperature dropping below zero due to the propane and electric heaters ceasing to function. He is survived by a step-daughter, Jeanne Edwards of Glendive; two nieces, Cara Moore of Glendive and Helen Anderson of Sidney; and one nephew, Hilton Utterback of Conrad. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.
