SERVICES SATURDAY FOR CLARENCE BACKHAUS

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday at Pauley Home for Funerals in Harlan for Clarence Fred Backhaus, 52, Greeley township.

Mr. Backhaus, a Shelby county resident since 1938, died unexpectedly at the Crawford County Hospital at Denison Nov. 23.

Dr. Allan K. Williams of the Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Union Township Cemetery, Defiance.

Survivors include his wife Irene, four children, Faye, at home; Janet, Mrs. Don Dotzler of Omaha; Rachel, Mrs. Kenneth Dolby of Mercer, Pa., and Sandra, at home.

Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Backhaus of Defiance, a brother Wallace of Manilla, and two sisters, Mrs. C. M. Klein of Omaha and Mrs. Lee Goetzinger of Defiance.
