Wesley "Loyd" Butts, 69, of Decatur, died on Tuesday afternoon, February 9, 1988, at the Tekamah Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 24, 1918, near Rosalie to Fred R. and Maude (Barrs) Butts.

Loyd was united in marriage to Edna A. Lambert on June 3, 1938 at Pender.

The couple lived in this area nearly all their lives, having farmed in earlier years.

Loyd operated a trucking firm until retiring in 1980.

Surviving is his wife, Edna A. Butts of Decatur; two sons: Richard L. butts of Garden Grove, California and Joseph L. Butts of Severn, Maryland; one daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Gaylord) Pitt of Logan, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; six sisters: Glenna Wortman of Rosalie, Gladys Morse of Anaheim, California, Madaline Duhachak of Meadow Grove, Bertha Mitchell of Omaha, and Patty Morgan and Viola Lienert, both of Walthill.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 12, 1988, at the United Methodist Church in Decatur with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating.

Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.

arrangements were handled by Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
