Judith A. Malone was born December 31, 1940, at Schleswig, Iowa, the daughter of Christopf and Anita Werneburg. She passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2 018, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, Iowa, at the age of seventy-seven.

Judith was baptized in Christ at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig on April 20, 1941. She received her education in the Denison Community Schools and graduated from Denison High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to Hans J. Malone November 20, 1966, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and they settled in Dow City, Iowa.

Fishing on the river and at Lake View or just driving around the lake were favorite pastimes for her. She loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed gatherings with family. She also enjoyed socializing at the café and playing cards and bingo at the nursing home, watching old westerns, sewing and patching clothes for siblings and nieces and nephews, gardening on the farm but not in town producing tomatoes and potatoes and raising chickens, turkeys and bunnies. She loved to cook and was excellent at pies, especially meringue and banana cream pies, as well as cinnamon rolls and cookies.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hans; one brother, Dick; and one brother-in-law, Cliff. Survivors include: three brothers: Eugene, Roger and his wife, Nancy, and Wayne; two sisters, Janice and her husband, Steven, and Donna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
