MRS. HENRY CLOSE

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Close, pioneer resident of Arlington and vicinity, were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Arlington, with brief services at the home preceding. Rev. Ralph Rasmussen was in charge.

Mrs. Close died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. W. Mattson, in Alameda, Calif., where she and Mr. Close had been visiting since last May. Mrs. Close suffered a stroke in August, following which her health failed rapidly. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Close had been a resident of Washington and Dodge counties since 1880. She and Mr. Close would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary December 27.

Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by one son, Raymond, Arlington; six grandchildren, one brother, W. J. Nickels, Boise, Idaho, and a niece, Mrs. Eva Lippett of Fleming, Colo.

PIONEER ARLINGTON LADY PASSED AWAY TUESDAY AT AGE OF 76

Funeral services for Hrs. Henry Close of Arlington, pioneer resident there, were held Saturday afternoon at the Arlington Methodist church after short services at the home. The rites were conducted by Rev. Ralph Rasmussen.

Mrs. Close died last Tuesday at the age of 76, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.W. Mattson, in Alameda, California, where she and Mr. Close had been visiting during the summer. Mrs. Close had suffered a stroke last August and her health had failed rapidly since that time.

She had been a resident of Washington and Dodge counties since 1880, and she and Mr. Close would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary December 27.

Surviving besides the bereaved husband and daughter are one son, Raymond, of Arlington; six Grandchildren; one brother, W.J. Nickels, of Boise, Idaho; and a niece, Mrs. Eva Lippett, of Fleming, Colorado.
