Mrs. Edna Schneider, living nine miles south of Blair, passed away at her home last Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock following an illness of three months’ duration during which time everything possible for loving hearts and willing hands to do was done.

Deceased was born in Harrison County, Missouri July 4, 1865 where she resided until she was sixteen years of age when her parents moved to South Dakota where they homesteaded. Later they moved to Colorado, then to New Mexico. After the death of the father, the family moved to this county where Mr. and Mrs. Schneider met and were married.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, a son, Louis F. of Beatrice, a daughter, Mrs. Dora M. Wenz of this county.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the home, and interment was made in the German cemetery.

WIFE OF F.F. SCHNEIDER A VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Edna Martin Schneider, wife of F.F. Schneider, died at her home nine miles south of Blair Friday, October 6, 1933, following an illness of several months duration. She had been confined to her bed the past month and last Wednesday contracted pneumonia which caused her death.

Deceased was born in Harrison County, Missouri, July 4, 1865, daughter of John A. and Amanda Martin. At the age of 16 she accompanied the family to Hanson County, South Dakota, where they took up claims, but after 16 years of hard work they were entirely cleaned out by drought and grasshoppers. They moved to Colorado for a year and later settled at Wagon Mound, N.M., where the family resided until the death of the parents.

Deceased was married to Frederick Schneider at Wagon Mound, N.M. on May 25, 1904. Mr. and Mrs., Schneider came to Blair shortly after and settled on their farm south of Blair where she resided at the time of her passing.

Surviving Mrs. Schneider are her husband, Frederick Ferdinand, one son, Louie of Beatrice, and a daughter, Mrs. Dora M. Wenz. One son, Thomas, passed away about four years ago. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Wilma Lou Wenz; two brothers, Reuben and Sebastian Martin of the state of Washington; a niece, Frances Eda Hemingway; and a brother-in-law Charles Wilks.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the farm home conducted by Rev. Goede, pastor of the Lutheran church of Bennington, with interment in the German cemetery, near the German Hall, south of Blair.
