Mrs. Louis Sorensen died at her home here on Thursday morning following an illness which extended over a period of three years. Mrs. Sorensen (Marie Paulson) was born at Kumdorf, Denmark on March 11th, 1866. In 1889 she came to the United States, coming direct to Blair. She lived there in that vicinity until her marriage to Mr. Sorensen on Dec. 24th 1891. Soon after they moved to Spencer, Ia. where they lived for eight years. They moved back to Washington county, and lived in the vicinity of Kennard until he bought a farm near Arlington about twenty four years ago. Three years ago Mr. And Mrs. Sorensen retired from active farm life on account of her health, and have since made their home in Arlington. Besides the husband, three children survive; Mrs. Walter Knecht, Chris Sorensen and Jens Sorensen, all of this vicinity, and a sister, Mrs. John Munson, of Kennard and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Sorenson was confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church in early girlhood. She was a member of the Arlington Rebekah lodge and the Rebekah Kensington. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. H. C. Valkenburgh officiating.
