After patiently suffering for about three years as the result of an accident, Mr. Andrew F. Johnson, old settler of Washington county, passed away June 6th.

Adelida Victoria Ring was born February 9th, 1847 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and when a young woman immigrated to America. Here she met and married Andrew F. Johnson in Perth Emboy, New Jersey on April 15, 1872. In 1880 they came to Nebraska and settled on a farm near Spiker where they lived until 1904 when they moved to Blair where they made their home. The husband passed away a number of years ago.189812956 One son, Andrew, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, who with his family, mourn the death of a dear devoted mother, and in this they are joined by a number of friends who through long years of close acquaintanceship have learned to love and respect her.

The funeral services were held on Thursday of last week from the St. Paul's Lutheran church at Orum, and interment was made in the Orum cemetery.

RITES HELD THURSDAY FOR PIONEER OF THIE COUNTY, NEAR SPIKER Mrs. Andrew F. Johnson, native of Denmark, and a resident of Spiker vicinity and of Blair city for the past 53 years, died Tuesday, June 6th from injuries suffered in an accident three years ago, from which she never recovered.

As Adelaide Victoria Ring, Mrs. Johnson was born February 9th, 1847 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was consequently 86 years old. When a young woman she immigrated to America and was married on April 15, 1872 to Andrew F. Johnson, in Perth Emboy, New Jersey.

In 1880 the couple came to Nebraska and settled near Spiker. In 1904 they moved to Blair, where Mrs. Johnson resided until the time of her death.

To this union was born one son, Andrew, who survives his mother, her husband having preceded her in death. Also surviving are one grandson and two great granddaughters. For many years she was an active member of the Norwegian Lutheran church of Orum.

Services were held last Thursday afternoon from St. Paul’s Lutheran church of Orum and interment was made in the cemetery near there.
