Enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping

Ethel Hineline, 90, of Blair, died on her 90th birthday, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ethel Colgan was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Evening Shade, Mo., to George and Anna Colgan. She attended Washington County country schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1939.

She married Kenneth Hineline on Jan. 4, 1945, and settled in Blair.

Mrs. Hineline worked for the Blair Telephone Company before starting a family. After the arrival of her daughters, she stayed at home to raise her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, volunteered on various church committees, and assisted the County Clerk's office at the local voting precincts. After her family was grown, she took over the bookkeeping for her husband's business, A & K Repair.

She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping with her family. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed almost any type of cards. She was an enthusiastic Nebraska football fan. She loved attending her grandchildren's athletic and music programs.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Cheryl and Terry Brownfield and Kathy and Pat Tripp, all of Omaha; four grandchildren, Joseph and Jordan Brownfield and Alissa and Jenna Tripp; sister-in-law Leona Plambeck of Blair; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hineline; two brothers, Ralph and Harold Colgan; and sister, Ruth McMillen.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.
