Thomas Christian Christiansen was born in Jerslev, Denmark on the 5th of February, 1866, and passed away at his home at Kirk, Nebraska on March the 29th after a prolonged illness and much suffering from cancer.

In 1888 Mr. Christiansen emigrated to America, and made his home at Blair until about three years ago when he moved to the western part of the state near Kimball.

On the 7th of July, 1896 Mr. Christiansen was united in marriage to Metta Marie Trandberg, and to this union five children were born: Chris, Alex and Seward, all of Kirk, Nebr; Carl of Lincoln, Nebr; and Mrs. Agnes Honeywell of Persia, Iowa.

Mrs. Christiansen preceded her husband in death last June.

Mr. Christiansen is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Marie Jensen of Blair, who together with the children and grandchildren and a host of friends, mourn his demise.

The body was shipped to Blair from Kirk, Nebr. and funeral services were held last Saturday from the First Lutheran Church, with Rev. James N. Lund officiating.
