MRS. CORA M. HEWETT

Mrs. Cora M. Hewett, wife of F. L. Hewett, former residents of Blair, was called in death after a brief illness of spinal meningitis. Death came about 9:15 Sunday evening, March 12, at the Wesley hospital in Oklahoma City where everything had been done to combat her ailment.

Cora May Simpson was born in Danvers, Illinois on June 2, 1866. When still a child, her family moved to Washington County. She was married to Frank L. Hewett in 1888.

They were residents of Washington County until 1911 when they moved to Blanchard, Oklahoma where they have since resided.

Five children were born to them, and they, with the husband, mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. Those left to survive her are the husband, F. L. Hewett, Clarence C. and Frank A. of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Ray L. of Blair, Florence Gibson of Morley, Missouri and Ruth Carey of Oklahoma City, all of whom were present. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Pawling of Winslow, Nebraska, Mrs. Mary Reel, Bristol, Nebraska and one brother, Jefferson Simpson of Moore, Montana.

Interment was made from the Hahn Funeral Home at 2 o’clock, March 14, in Fair Lawn Cemetery in Oklahoma city.

#2-16 Mar., 1933 - The Enterprise Raymond L. Huett, Blair rural mail carrier, received a telegram Saturday that his mother was seriously sick in the hospital at Oklahoma City. He left at once, but word has come that she passed away a few minutes before he arrived. She was ill only four days with spinal Meningitis. Mrs. Huett was well know in this county, having lived most of her life in the Admah neighborhood. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, three sons, two daughters and six grandchildren.
