Longtime Blair resident

Robert S. Lawson, 84, of Blair, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 18, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Robert S. Lawson was born March 7, 1927, in Tekamah to Sylvester and Dorothy (Hammond) Lawson.

He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He lived in Tekamah for 40 years and for the last 44 years in Blair.

He was married to Janice Freeman in September of 1952; she preceded him in death in 1964. On Feb. 8, 1981, he married Violet Wulf.

He is survived by his wife, Violet, of Blair; son, Kevin, of Oregon; daughter, Kelly, of Omaha; stepson, Jerry Wulf, of Georgia; and six grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Woolheater and Dorothy Trofholz.
