Christina Anna (Eberhard) George
Died on 3/12/1933

16 Mar., 1933 - The Enterprise

Christina Anna Eberhard was born in Leipzig (colony) Russia Jan. 29, 1854, of German parentage, and died in Blair, Nebraska March 12, 1933 at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 13 days.

When a girl of fifteen, she was confirmed May 29, 1869 in the city of Kischeneff, Russia. She came to America May 1, 1874, making her home in Hamilton Co. There, Nov. 25, 1877, she was married to E. J. George. Her home has been all the years in the vicinity of Aurora, Nebraska. She joined the Methodist church about 40 years ago, and was a very true and faithful member, quiet, unassuming, but very much devoted to all the work of her church.

Mr. George died July 31, 1926, and she has made her home with her children ever since; in summers near Aurora and in the winters spending some time with her minister son, William. She was in his home when she became sick, and in spite of all loving attention could do, she passed from the tasks of life to be with her companion, whom she missed so sorely.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lulu Penner of York and Mrs. Mollis Greis of Aurora and three sons, William of Blair, Emil of Beatrice and John J. of Los Angeles. There are also two sisters, Mrs. G. Meisenholder of Vermillion, South Dakota and Mrs. John Deering of Parkston, S.D. and one brother, Emanuel Eberhart of Scotland, S.D. There are 11 grandchildren.

She was a dear motherly woman, appreciative of all kindnesses and much loved by all who knew her.

A short service was held Tuesday morning at the Crowell Memorial Home with the sermon by Rev. W. H. Jackson, and the body was taken to Aurora for further services in charge of the Rev. Seikman, her pastor, and interment was made in the Aurora cemetery.
