MRS. LOUISE DAVIS OF BLUE SPRINGS CALLED

Louise Armstrong Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Armstrong, was born in Effingham County, Illinois, March 31, 1854, and departed this life at her home in Blue springs, Nebr. January 10, 1933, aged 78 years, 9 months and 9 days.

The Armstrong family emigrated to Nebraska when she was about 14 years of age, and settled near Blair, Nebr. where the deceased grew to womanhood. On Oct. 16, 1872, at Blair, Nebraska, she was united in marriage with Lafe Davis of Herman, Nebr. To this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter.

Soon after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to a farm near Herman, Nebr. where they lived until about the year 1905 when they moved to Hartford, Kansas, and here they resided for about ten years. From Hartford, Kansas they moved to Hebron, Nebr. and retired from active farm life. About the year 1922 they moved to Blue Springs, Nebr. where they have since resided.

In the early years of the married life of the deceased, she and her husband entered the Christian life and began to order their home in a Christian manner. They both united with an early Methodist Class, and were charter members in the Herman Methodist Episcopal church. For about a half century she remained faithful to her Savior, the church, and the Christian enterprises of her community. In the sunset years of life she found great comfort in the faith and hope which her Christian experience had brought to her life. Throughout her life she gave herself unreservedly to her family and home, and as a mother in the home she sought earnestly to do her very best day by day, and be a true friend to her fellow men.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at Hebron, Nebr, and last fall they observed the anniversary of their sixtieth wedding day at Blue Springs, Nebr.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband companion, and the children: A.W. Davis of Mountain View, Cal; H. G. and H. N. Davis of Bellwood, Nebr. and U.L. Davis of Wyoming and her only daughter, Mrs. Goldie Cope of Medford, Oregon. One sister, Mrs. Jake McCracken of Blair, Nebr. and an only brother, William Armstrong of Blair, Nebr. Besides these, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and the relatives and friends that will greatly miss her from this life.

Mrs. Davis will be well remembered by the earlier settlers of this community.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the M.E. church in Herman with Rev. Norlin officiating, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
