PIONEER CALLED TO REST

William Stork, Sr., 89 years of age, died at the home of his son, August Stork, early Friday morning from infirmities due to old age.

Mr. Stork was one of the earliest pioneers of this vicinity, coming here more than sixty five years ago.

The deceased was born in Octinghausen Westphalia, Germany on Oct.15, 1843. Last March he and Mrs. Stork observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary, and several months later his wife died. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stork were among the first members of St. Paul’s Lutheran church when it was founded.

Six sons and two daughters survive, Gottlieb Stork, John Stork, Edward Stork, William Stork, Jr., all of this vicinity and Herman of Norfolk; Mrs. Anna Gnuse of Arlington and Mrs. William Dahlkutter of Ogalalla; and one brother, Casper of Arlington. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, one o’clock at the August Stork home, and at one forty five at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church with Rev. G. W. Wolter in charge. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers, Martin, Harold, Leonard, Everett and Wilford Stork and Raymond Gnuse.
