1926 - 2000

Gene Holstein, 73, of Cheyenne died Jun 19 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born Sept. 4, 1926 in Herman, Nebr. and had lived there for 27 years.

Mr. Holstein married Betty Lou Disher on Feb. 22, 1948 in West Point, Nebr.

He owned Quick Chik Drive-in in Fort Collins, Colo. form 1965 to 1972. He was a truck driver after moving to Cheyenne in 1972.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 257.

Mr. Holstein is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Holstein of Cheyenne; three daughters, Peggy Miller of Laramie and Connie Kerr and Gay Emanuel, both of Fort Collins; 5 brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter Linda Holstein on Dec. 8, 1997; his parents, Ed and Laura Holstein; one brother and one sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Travis Kerr, Heath Miller, Andy Kerr, Robert Miller, Kevin Kerr and Dennis Larson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Emanuel, Katie Emanuel, Chris Miller and Michael Kerr.
