Maxine I. Shores age 93 of Blair, Nebraska formerly Fremont passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, NE. She was born January 10, 1926 at Valley, Nebraska to Frank and Minnie (Seefus) Byrne.

Maxine grew up in Valley and graduated from Valley High School in 1944. She married James M. Shores on October 18, 1947 in Valley. They moved to Fremont in 1953. James preceded her in death on August 14, 1991. She moved to Blair in 1991.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary Post 854 both in Fremont. Maxine loved her soap operas on TV and enjoyed sewing, cooking and going to the casinos.

Maxine is survived by her sons, James (Jean) Shores of Blair and Matthew (Kathy Jensen) Shores of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, Michelle (Tony) Pippen, Michael (Millette) Shores, James (Jess) Shores and Jacque (Danny) Wikowsky and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Clair and Tom Byrne.

Graveside Service will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. The Rev. Walter Nolte will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont VFW Auxiliary.
