FRANK W. BROWN RITES AT ARLINGTON

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Frank William Brown, retired Arlington farmer who served as Washington county's representative in the Nebraska legislature in 1932 and 1934.

The services took place at 2 p.m. at the Arlington Congregational church, Rev. E. Merle Adams officiated, assisted by Rev. H.C. Van Valkenburgh.

Pallbearers were Herman Jungbluth, Fred Jungbluth, E. Renard, Raymond Ludwig, Ray Masters and Cortez Cook.

Mr. Brown, who was 84, died Saturday at his home at Arlington. Born in Waterbury, Conn., June 28, 1866, he had lived in the Arlington vicinity since 1868. He farmed for 62 years on the same farm four miles southeast of Arlington.

Survivors include the widow, the former Ida W. Anderson, and two sons, one daughter, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

FRANK BROWN DEAD AT 80

PROMINENT FORMER ARLINGTON FARMER, LEGISLATOR, DIED OF STROKE

A prominent retired Arlington farmer and livestock man, who once served as a state legislator, died Saturday. He was Frank Brown, 84 , whose death occurred at his home in Arlington about a week after he had suffered a severe stroke.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Arlington Congregational Church, the Rev. Dr. E. Merle Adams and the Rev. H.C. Van Valkenburgh officiating. Arrangements were directed by the W. A Reckmeyer Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Herman and Fred Jungbluth, Ed Renard, Raymond Ludwig, Ray Masters and Cortez Cook.

Mr. Brown was born at Waterbury, Conn., June 23, 1866. In 1868 he moved with his parents, William H. and Emily Clark Brown, to a farm just north of Whitford School. In 1870, they moved to the present Brown farm four miles east of Arlington.

Mr. Brown and Ida W. Anderson were married Febr. 2, 1892 and to them were born two sons and one daughter.

After 62 years on the same farm, Mr. Brown retired and with his wife moved to Arlington.

As a state legislator, Mr. Brown was elected to Washington County in 1932 and again in 1934.

Survivors include the widow, Ida; two sons, Lloyd Brown and Lawrence Brown, both of Arlington; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Berry (Irene) of Tekamah; six grandchildren, Leroy, Robert and Kay Frances Brown of Arlington, Donald Brown in the armed forces, Janet Berry of Tekamah and Mrs. Duane Arthur of North Bend. There are two great-grandchildren, Terry and Tommy Brown of Arlington.
