W.H. Brown, who died Feb. 7th and was buried in the Arlington cemetery last Thursday afternoon, was one of the oldest settlers of Washington county. He was born in New Haven county, Conn., March 12, 1835, and was married to Miss Emily A. Clark in 1857, removing to Nebraska in March 1868. In 1870 he purchased the 160-acre farm four miles southeast of Arlington, where he lived for forty years. Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Frank and L.C., both of Washington county and two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Wager of this county and Mrs. O.P. Masters of California. Mrs. Brown died ten years ago.
