BLAIR MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT NEAR MO VALLEY

Gerald (Jerry) Lynn Hansen, a Blair resident living on rural route one, died Saturday in the Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs following a car accident on Highway 30 a short distance east of the DeSoto Bend entrance. Available information was that the car in which Hansen was riding hooked bumpers with another and threw his car into a spin. He was thrown from the car. Death was attributed to internal injuries.

Hansen was 24 years of age. He was born at Blair June 28th, 1949. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Fremont and by a son, Michael Lee. Gerald was a long time employee of the Concrete Equipment Co. of Blair.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Leroy Hansen (Violet) of Woodland Hills, California. He has six brothers: Leroy of Salesbury, Maryland; Larry, of Denver; Ronald of Mead; Roger of Casper, Wyoming; Richard of Blair; and Edwin of Fremont.

He has three sisters: Miss Ann Hansen of Fremont; Miss Linda Sue, of Boulder, Colorado, and Sharon Kay who lives with her mother at Woodland Hills, California. A grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Evans, lives in Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, August 21st, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Orum. The Rev. Joseph Myers and Dwight L. Steiner conducted the service. Burial was made in the Orum Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Robert Milek, Dennis Saunders, Marvin Jessen, Don Stodola, Roger Nelson and Dale Paulsen.
