Word reached this office this morning of the death of Detlef Desler, resident of this and Douglas counties. Deceased has made his home in and near the Dornacker school district for the past thirty-five years and the entire southern portion of the county will grieve to learn of his death which occurred Wednesday afternoon. At the time of his death he was residing on a farm about a mile south of the county line in Douglas county. No definite arrangements have been made for the funeral except that it will be held on Saturday.

DETLOF DESLER RITES ARE HELD

PROMINENT COUNTY FARMER DIED SUDDENLY LAST WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Detlof Desler, well-known farmer in the southern part of the county, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the German Lutheran church in Bennington, with Rev. H. Goede officiating. Mr. Desler, who resided on a farm near Bennington, died suddenly last Wednesday, July 26th, after a heart attack. He was 62 years of age.

Detlof Desler was born in Germany on February 13, 1871. At the age of 17, he immigrated to the United States, coming immediately to Blair, where he remained for several years.

In 1898, he was united in marriage with Catrina Wirt in Blair and soon afterward moved to a farm near Bennington. He had lived in that same neighborhood since that time.

Surviving Mr. Desler are eleven children, seven sons and four daughters. The sons are George of Omaha, Arthur of Washington, and John, Henry, Elmer, Raymond and Royal, all at home. The four daughters are Mrs. Henry Kniep of Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, Marie of Omaha, and Agnes and Dorothy at home.

Also remaining are a brother, Johannes, and a sister, Mrs. Christina Rahlf, of Germany. Three grandchildren are also among the survivors.
