Anton Rasmussen Called to Final Rest

Anton Rasmussen, long time resident of the community, passed away at his home about three miles west of Herman, Friday, February 2, following a brief illness. Mr. Rasmussen was a victim of the flu later suffering a stroke

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Herman Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Immanuel Petersen officiating. Music was furnished by Chas. Gray, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Dagmar Olson and Roland Wachter, accompanied by Mrs. J. H. Johnson at the piano. Interment was at the Herman Cemetery.

Anton Rasmussen was born November 10, 1865, at Randers, Denmark, at which place he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He passed away February 2, 1934, following a very short illness. He was 68 years, 2 month and 22 days of age. He came to this country at the age of nineteen and settled in Omaha in which city he was married to Julia Andersen. To this union eight children were born of which six are living, two having preceded him in death. They came to Herman 27 years ago and have lived on a farm in the vicinity since then with the exception of three years spent in Knox County.

He leave to mourn his death his wife, two sons, four daughters, on brother, one sister, five grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Anton Rasmussen, 68, who died in Herman February 2, were held last Tuesday at the Herman Baptist Church, with Rev. Immanuel Petersen officiating, it was learned in Blair this week. Mr. Rasmussen was a victim of the flu, later suffering a stroke.

Anton Rasmussen was born in Randers, Denmark, November 10, 1865, and came to Omaha when 19 years old. In that city he married Julia Andersen, and to the couple eight children were born, of which six are yet living. For the past 27 years the family had lived in Herman and vicinity, with the exception of three years spent in Knox County.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, four daughters, one brother, one sister, and five grandchildren.
