Lavera M.E. Anderson, age 85, of Craig, died May 20, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Funeral services were May 27, at the United Methodist Church in Craig with interment in the Craig Cemetery.

Lavera Margaret Emma Grafe was born April 28, 1924, in West Point, to Henry and Anna (Gerch) Grafe. She attended school at Zion Lutheran Church in Bancroft.

On Dec. 5, 1943, she married Harold L. Anderson Sr. in Bancroft.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Craig. Her interests were sewing, cooking, quilting, canning, baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was the No. 1 fan of her grandsons' stock car racing.

She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Harry Anderson of Craig, Bud and Mary Anderson of Richland, Mo., Gerry and Lucille Anderson of Louisville, Ky., and Jim and Joyce Anderson of Norfolk; six daughters and their spouses, Wanda Puffer of Craig, Judy and Clark Smith of Omaha, Jane and Bob Anderson of Rock Springs, Janice and Don Paulson of Oxford, Connie and Chuck Delp of Rock Springs, and Lesa and Robert of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Betty Anderson of Blair; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Ivan Hass of Wisner; sister-in-law, Laverne Molvig of Omaha; several cousins; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Anderson, in May of 1988; a son, Layton Dean Anderson; and granddaughter Michelle Lee Anderson.
