FORMER ARLINGTON WOMAN DIES

Funeral services for Mrs. T. A. Geriens were held here on Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Schoettger of Arlington at 2:00 o’clock, and interment was made in the Arlington cemetery beside her husband who was buried here a number of years ago.

Elizabeth Mary Thompson was born on January 2, 1863 in Dorchester, Ill., and was reared in the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Buck.

On March 2, 1884 at Rosamond, Illinois she was married to Theodore A. Gierens, and after the first year of their married life in Illinois, they came west to Nebraska and located on a farm near Bradshaw. Here their only child died in infancy. They then moved to York, and later to Arlington where they resided for a number of years. They then moved to a farm near Walton and Mr. Gierens died in July, 1922 Mrs. Gierens returned to Arlington where she again spent several years. She afterwards went back to Walton where she spent the remainder of her life.

She died on December 17 after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday at Hodgeman’s mortuary in Lincoln at 10:00 a.m. before the body was brought to Arlington for burial.
