MRS. THOS. BARRY DIES DEC. 18

Mrs. Thomas Barry, aged 53 years, died Friday, December 18 at her home in Hastings, Nebraska following a long protracted illness.

Deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Pontzius at Smith Center, Kansas on March 15, 1883. She came with her parents to Blair, and for a number of years was a very popular teacher in the schools of Washington county.

It was while teaching the McCarthy school that Lillian Pontzius met and married Thomas Barry. They later moved to Hastings where a family of seven children were born to them. The children are: Frank, Ralph, Arlene and Mrs. LaVerne Becker of Hastings, Nebraska; William of Smith Center, Kansas; Thomas of Omaha; Virginia, who with the father, are grief stricken over the loss of the wife and mother.

Funeral services were held from the St. Cecelia church at Hastings on last Monday morning, and interment was made in the Hastings cemetery.
